PM SHRI Government Model Girls Senior Secondary School, Mandi is one of the oldest and most prestigious educational institutions for girls in the region. The school has a rich legacy of more than a century and has played a significant role in promoting girls’ education in Himachal Pradesh.
The institution was established in the year 1911 by Rani Amrit Kaur with the noble vision of empowering girls through quality education. In its early years, the school was known as “Rani Amrit Kaur Purti Pathshala.” From the very beginning, the school focused on providing moral, academic, and social education to young girls.
With the growing demand for higher education, the school was upgraded to a Middle School in 1936. After India’s independence, it continued its steady progress and was upgraded to a High School in 1948. Keeping pace with educational development and community needs, the institution was further upgraded to a Senior Secondary School in 1963.
At present, the school functions as a PM SHRI (Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India) Government Model Girls Senior Secondary School, reflecting its commitment to excellence under the national flagship scheme. The school is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and follows the CBSE curriculum, ensuring quality education aligned with national standards and the National Education Policy (NEP 2020).
